The PTFE shield is manufactured from three layers of woven Teflon coated fibreglass fabric with a central Teflon scrim for high strength. It is ideal for applications involving concentrated acids and caustics, as well as fuel/lubricating oils. This material is inherently resistant to Ultra-Violet radiation. There is a litmus leak indicator patch contained within a clear Teflon window. The easy to fit, lock tight, fastening system comprises both a Velcro strip coupled with a braided 100% Teflon coated fibreglass draw string, and a reusable 100% Teflon traction cord. When tightened the fabric is drawn over the flange bolts toward the pipe wall thus eliminating a lateral spray out. Design and permeability do enable leaks to bereleased in the central zone, without danger, avoiding pressure-build up within the shield. The PTFE shield allows easy installation and removal with no special tools. It can be re-used, even in the event of a leak, thus providing a long term solution.
